Wolves Re-assign Rookie Guard Malcolm Lee to Sioux Falls

Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced that the club has re-assigned rookie guard Malcolm Lee to the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League. Lee is expected to play tomorrow as Sioux Falls plays host to Bakersfield.

Lee appeared in three games for the Skyforce in his first stint with Sioux Falls, averaging 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 25.3 minutes. He tallied 16 points and dished out six assists on Feb. 7 vs. Dakota, had nine points and seven assists in a win over Idaho on Feb. 10, and recorded four points, four rebounds and five assists vs. Canton on Feb. 11.

Lee, acquired on draft night from the Chicago Bulls, has yet to appear in a regular season game for the Wolves after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on December 30.

Per NBA rules, a first- or second-year player can be assigned to the team's D-League affiliate a maximum of three times in a season.
