NDSU's Colwell Named Summit League Baseball Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State first baseman Nick Colwell was named Summit League baseball Player of the Week by the league office Monday, Feb. 27.

Colwell, a senior from Shoreview, Minn., hit .700 (14-for-20) in NDSU's four-game sweep at Northern Colorado. He had two doubles, two triples and nine RBIs, stole a base, and scored seven runs.

Colwell had at least two hits in each game and tied the NDSU single-game record for hits when he went 5-for-6 in the third game of the series. He raised his season batting average from .200 to .533.

Western Illinois senior right-hander Dustin Hunter was named Pitcher of the Week after going seven innings for a win at Alabama A&M, where he allowed two hits and zero earned runs while striking out a career-high 12.
