PTP Basketball Players of the Week

Kari Skersick (Bagley) and Jace Hennen (Ada-Borup) have earned the final Girls and Boys Basketball Players of the Week awards for the 2011-2012 season.

Kari helped the Flyers to a 2-1 record for the week. She scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 57-46 win over Lake Park-Audubon on Tuesday. On Thursday, she had a career high 32 points and 8 rebounds in a 69-14 victory against Section 8AA foe, Park Rapids. Kari finished her week off by scoring 28 points in a 50-49 loss at Warroad. For the week, she averaged 28 points and shot 29-31 from the free throw line.

Jace had a game high 33 points, including scoring his career 1000th point, against Mahnomen in a 94-55 victory. To make Jace’s game even more impressive, he went 8 for 8 from behind the 3 point line and added 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in the Cougars only game for the week.

There were several other outstanding performances during last weeks action, including: Justine Yost (Waubun) with 20 points and 9 steals, Jake Pavek (Mahnomen) averaging 30 points and 15.5 rebounds in two games and Tyler George (Bagley) averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 assists in two games.
