MSU-M Dragons Men's BB schedule

MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team (2-0) will travel across the street to their cross town rival Concordia Cobbers (Minn.) on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. It will mark the first time in Head Coach Chad Walthall's career that he will face off against his alma mater.

THE SERIES
The Dragons lead the all-time series 99-80. The Cobbers took the 2009 meeting on a last second shot 54-53.

LAST MEETING RECAP (at MSUM)
In the first half, the Dragons managed to gain the lead twice but neither squad jumped out to more than a two possession lead. After a quick Cobber run towards the end of the half, sophomore Andrew VanHavermaet made his first three point shot of the game to end the Cobbers momentum at halftime and the Dragons cut the lead down to three.

VanHavermaet stepped up in the second half, going 4-5 from beyond the arc in an effort to rally his team. After a jump shot by sophomore Jake Driscoll that tied the game with 7:33 left to play, the lead switched hands eight more times with no lead going past one possession. The Dragons took the lead on a pair of Driscoll free throws but a last second shot by Cobbers junior forward John Fraase gave the lead back to Concordia. The Cobbers would hold on after a jump ball with 1.3 seconds left. The scoreboard final was 54-53.

UP NEXT
The Dragons will return to Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse on Sun., Nov. 28 to host Gustavus Adolphus at 4 p.m.
