Abby Cleveland Signs National Letter of Intent with UMC

Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women's volleyball coach Lee Anderson announced today the signing of Abby Cleveland to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles
in 2011.

Cleveland is a 6-0, middle hitter, from Andover High School in the North West Suburban Conference. She was a section champion and state participant in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. She was named the team's rookie of the year and was selected as an All-State Academic Award winner.

"Abby is a physical middle hitter who is excellent on the slide approach. She comes from an outstanding high school program with a winning tradition and that experience will serve her well at UMC," says Coach Anderson. "We are very excited that Abby decided to pursue her goals as a member of the Golden Eagle Volleyball family."

Cleveland plans to major in criminal justice at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Tom and Diane Cleveland.
