Taylor Kujava (Jr., Forward) from Ada-Borup High School and Garrett
Carlin (Sr., Forward) from Fosston High School have been selected as the
Pine to Prairie Conference Girls and Boys Basketball Players of the Week.
Taylor led the Courgars to a 3-0 record last week with wins over Norman
County West, Fertile-Beltrami and Red Lake County Central. Kujava led
her team with some outstanding stats in all categories for the week. Taylor
averaged 22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals per contest last week. The Ada-Borup team currently leads the South Division of the Pine to
Prairie Conference.
In three hard fought wins during last week, Garrett led the way both with his offensive skills and defensive presence on the floor. Against Mahnomen,
Garrett scored 29 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, added 2 blocks and 2 assists
in the 59-47 victory. In a 53-47 victory over Sacred Heart, Carlin had 16
points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. Against Ulen-
Hitterdal, Garrett scored 15 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, blocked 4 shots,
dished out 4 assists and added 2 steals as the Greyhounds won the hard
fought double overtime game.
Other outstanding performances for the week include: Alecia Stene (Jr.,
Center) from Norman County East and Andi Knudsvig (Jr., Guard) from
Lake Park-Audubon for Girls Basketball and Kris Skersick (Jr., Forward)
from Bagley, Chase Zeller (Jr. Guard) from Lake Park-Audubon, and Scott
Lampton (Sr., Center) from Norman County East for Boys Basketball. A
special mention also goes to junior guard Tate Mosher from Fertile-Beltrami
High School. Tate recorded his 1000th career point against Climax-Fisher
last week.
