Shelby Kaster (Fr., Center) from Win-E-Mac High School and Katie Skersick (Sr., Center) from Bagley High School have been selected as the Pine to Prairie Girls Basketball Players of the Week. On the boys side, Alec Lisoff (Sr., Center) from Win-E-Mac High School has been honored as the Pine to Prairie Basketball Player of the Week.
Shelby and Katie each lead their respective teams to 2-0 conference records last week. Shelby had 17 points, 16 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, and 3 assists against Fertile-Beltrami and then added 13 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocks in the Patriots victory over the Fosston Greyhounds.
Katie scored 24 points and pulled in 4 rebounds in the Flyers 53-33 win over Fosston. Skersick then added 25 points, 9 rebounds, 8 steals and 4 assists against Climax-Fisher. In a non-conference game against Crookston, Katie added 13 points and 9 rebounds as the Flyers were upended 81-57.
Alec Lisoff had a great week as he led the Patriots to a 2-1 record. Win-E-Mac recorded wins over Fertile-Beltrami and Clearbrook-Gonvick and then had a hard fought 3 point loss to Red Lake County. Alec led the team in scoring with tallies of 21, 21, and 35 points for an average of 25.7 points per game. Lisoff shot 53% from the floor and went 12/15 from the free throw line. Alec also added double digit rebounds for each of the games as well as averaging 2 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals.
Other outstanding performances for the week include: Tyler George (Jr., Guard) from Bagley, Bailee Bartunek (Fr., Post) from Lake Park-Audubon, and Katie Kolness (Sr., Forward) from Ada-Borup.
