UMC Softball team to hold chili feed

(Crookston, Minn.) -- The University of Minnesota, Crookston's Women's Softball team will hold a chili feed on Thursday, February 2 at the Crookston Eagles Club. The chili feed will run from 4:30 until 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. Additional bowls of chili can be purchased for $2 at the Eagles. All proceeds of the event go toward Minnesota, Crookston's spring training games which include five games at the Vadnais Heights Dome on February 28-29 and 12 games at Cocoa Beach Spring Training in Titusville, Fla. from March 9-15.

The Golden Eagles open the 2012 season on Tuesday, February 28-29 when the team travels to the Vadnais Heights Dome to play Northern State, MSU Moorhead, Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State in non-conference games. The Golden Eagles open the NSIC season on March 24-25 when the team hosts Winona State and Upper Iowa at the UMC Softball Field. The double-headers are scheduled for 1 p.m. on both days.
