Brooke Brommenschenkel (Norman County West), Jake Pavek (Mahnomen) and Joel Merkens (Ada-Borup) haven been awarded Pine to Prairie Girls and Boys Basketball Player of the Week honors. All three players had outstanding weeks in helping to lead their respective teams.
Brooke scored 22 points and had 7 steals as NCW defeated Mahnomen. Brommenschenkel added 16 points and 3 steals in a loss to the Fosston Greyhounds. For the week, Brooke averaged 19 points and 5 steals.
Jake scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against Norman County West and followed that effort up with 27 points and 13 rebounds against Norman County East. Jake averaged 25 points and 14 rebounds for the week, continuing his string of doubledouble games.
Joel scored 25 points andgrabbed 10 rebounds in a 71-53 victory over Fosston. He then added another double-double against Bagley with a 20 point and 12 rebound effort as the Cougars defeated the Flyers at Bagley.
Other outstanding efforts for the week include: Neil Henrickson Ulen-Hitterdal) and Troy Peterson (Ulen-Hitterdal).
