Alecia Stene (Sr., Center) from Norman County East and Alex Wentzel (Sr., Forward) from Climax/Fisher have been selected as the Conference Girls and Boys Players of the Week.
Alecia helped lead the Eagles to a 2-0 record last week. Against Barnesville, Alecia had 21 points, 16 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots. She followed that effort up with 15 points, 14 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots against Norman County West.
Alex recorded three double-doubles in the three games the Knights played last week. Wentzel tallied 24 points against Red Lake County Central, 21 points against Mahnomen and added 22 points against Central Valley giving him a 22.3 points per game average for the week.
Other notable performances for last week included: Jenna Lundon (Waubun) averaging 23 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games, Jace Hennen (Ada-Borup) averaged 17 points in two wins, Tyler Schow (Win-E-Mac) scored 19 points in a win, Sam Lerud (Waubun) scored a career high 39 points in a win, and Seth Carlin (Fosston) recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds in a win.
