MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – Minnesota Lynx today announced the signing of second-round draft pick Christina Foggie (24th overall).
Foggie,
22, averaged 19.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game as a senior with
Vanderbilt last season, claiming the SEC scoring crown. She was named
BCA All-American Honorable Mention and selected to the All-SEC First
Team. The 5-9 guard finished her career at Vanderbilt as the all-time
leader in three-pointers made (276) and ranked seventh on the school's
all-time scoring list (1,743 points). She reached double figures in 85
games in her career, including scoring 20 or more points in 32 games.
The first chance fans have to see the defending WNBA Champion’s new-look roster is the team’s preseason contest at Target Center on Monday, May 5 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the game are available by calling the Lynx at 612-673-8400.
The 2013 WNBA Champion Lynx will tip off
the 2014 season on the road at Washington on Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m.
The 2014 home opener will be on Sunday, May 18 vs. Connecticut at 4
p.m., which will feature a historic ring ceremony and championship
