MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced the signing of draft picks Tricia Liston (12th overall) and Aysa Bussie (15th overall).
Liston,
22, averaged a team-high 17.2 points, including 5.2 rebounds and 1.6
assists per game as a senior with Duke last season. Liston led the Blue
Devils in multiple categories including scoring (17.2), minutes (31.4),
three-pointers (87) and free-throw percentage (.852). The River Forest,
Illinois, native drained a school-record 87 three-pointers during the
2013-14 season and concluded her career as a Blue Devil with a school
record in three-point field goals (252), which ranks tied for seventh on
the ACC all-time charts. The 6-1 guard also set the ACC single-season
free throw record her junior season, shooting 93.1% from the charity
stripe.
Bussie, a 6-4
center, was named to the Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention
team, the All-Big 12 Defensive Team and the All-Big 12 First Team in
2013-14 after leading the West Virginia Mountaineers to a 30-5 record
and a Big 12 Conference regular season championship. Bussie averaged
12.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in her senior campaign and ranks
11th all-time on the West Virginia charts with 1,497 career points.
The
first chance fans have to see the defending WNBA Champion’s new-look
roster is the team’s preseason contest at Target Center on Monday, May 5

2013 WNBA Champion Lynx will tip off the 2014 season on the road at
Washington on Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m. The 2014 home opener will be on
Sunday, May 18 vs. Connecticut at 4 p.m., which will feature a historic
ring ceremony and championship banner raising for the 2013 WNBA
