STATS FCS Top 25 poll

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State slipped two spots from second to fourth in the STATS FCS Top 25 poll Monday, Sept. 14, despite rolling to a 41-14 victory over Weber State last week.

Jacksonville State, the defending Ohio Valley Conference champion, is the new No. 1 team after a near upset of SEC power Auburn.  The Gamecocks got 39 of the 154 first-place votes after slipping to 1-1 on the year with the 27-20 overtime loss.

Only 50 points separated the top four teams in the STATS poll.  Coastal Carolina moved up one spot to second after a 41-14 win over South Carolina State, and Sam Houston State slipped from first to third in a bye week after losing at Texas Tech on the opening weekend.

NDSU remained No. 2 in the FCS Coaches Poll behind Coastal Carolina, but the Bison did not receive any first-place votes.  Villanova slipped to third out of last week's tie for second, and Jacksonville State was fourth.

North Dakota State (1-1) closes out its non-conference schedule this week hosting North Dakota (2-0) for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff Saturday, Sept. 19, at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome.
