HERO Sports FCS All-America Team




FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State had four players named to the HERO Sports FCS All-America Team announced Friday, Dec. 30.  Left guard Zack Johnson was named to the first team, safety Tre Dempsey and defensive end Greg Menard made the second team, and linebacker MJ Stumpf was named third team.

It is the sixth All-America first team award of the year for Johnson, who will play in the East-West Shrine Game in January.  It is the third All-America award for Dempsey and the second for Menard this year.  Stumpf is a first-time All-American.

Earlier in the week, NDSU safety Robbie Grimsley was named to the HERO Sports FCS all-sophomore team and running back Lance Dunn was an honorable mention.

North Dakota State finished 12-2 overall with an appearance in the FCS semifinals and won a share of its sixth straight Missouri Valley Football Conference championship with a 7-1 league record.

University of North Dakota’s DB Cole Reyes and Kick returner John Santiago were also named to the second team, while DB Deion Harris was on the third team.
