NDSU's Whittle Named Summit League Women's Basketball POTW



ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State senior guard Marena Whittle was named Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance Jan. 18-24. It’s the second Player of the Week award this season for Whittle, and also of her career. Whittle tied her career-high with 33 points to lead North Dakota State to its first league win of the season over Fort Wayne. She 18 rebounds, six assists and three blocks in the win against the Mastodons. Her 33 points and 18 rebounds are both the second-highest single game totals in the league this season. She scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds on Thursday vs. Western Illinois. For the week, she averaged 24.5 points, 16 rebounds, four assists and two blocks per game, Shot 54.8 percent (17-of-31) from the field, 66.7 percent (4-of-6) from three-point range and 84.6 percent (11-of-13) at the free throw line

The Bison return to action on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 4:30 p.m. at South Dakota.
