(Burnsville, Minn.)- The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) announced today that Golden Eagle Men’s Golfer Jon Blazek (Sr, Owatonna, Minn.) has been named NSIC Golfer of the Week.
Blazek shot even par rounds of 71 at Canoa Ranch Golf Club and 72 at Torres Blancas Golf Club to finish at 143 at the Tucson Invitational Games played in Tucson, Ariz. March 14-15. The Golden Eagles shot a 301 and held a 22 stroke lead after day one and came out in the second round to shoot even better. UMC shot a 300 in the second round for a total score of 601 which was good for a 33 stroke victory.
UMC teammates Brandon Hanson (Sr., Devils Lake, N.D.) and Matt McClure (Fr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) also shot extremely well shooting a 149 and a 152 respectively.
