UMC athletes named to NSIC All-Conference Second Team

(Burnsville, Minn.)- The 2011-12 NSIC All-Conference Teams have been announced, as voted on by the league coaches. Earning honors from the University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Basketball team were Brittany Wiese (G, 5-7, Jr, Albertville, Minn.) and Megan Eul (G, 5-10, Sr, Rosemount, Minn.) who were both named to the NSIC Women’s Basketball All-Conference Second Team.

Wiese played and started in just 19 games due to as season-ending injury. She averaged 30 minutes/game and was averaging 15.2 points/game before her injury. She dished 69 assists and grabbed 30 steals. She scored a season-high 24 points against Augustana College on December 17. Wiese is majoring in sport & recreation management. She is the daughter of Ken and Lori Wiese.

Eul started in all 26 games this season. She averaged 29 minutes/game and 13.7 points/game. She shot 45.7% from the field, 36.4 % from long range and 78% from the free-throw line. She led the Golden Eagles in rebounding with 163 boards. She dished 37 assists, blocked 14 shots, stole 29 passes and led UMC in scoring with 357 points. Eul is majoring in early childhood education. She is the daughter of Liz and Craig Eul.
