Minnesota Lynx Unveil 2012 Draft Central

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today unveiled a special section on LynxBasketball.com devoted to the upcoming 2012 WNBA Draft. With “March Madness” grabbing the attention of women’s basketball fans around the country, Draft Central features scouting reports on the top 15 seniors across the country, as well as updated statistics on over 60 draft eligible seniors. Additionally, Lynx Draft Central also features mock drafts from Michelle Smith of ESPNW, Nate Parham of Swish Appeal and Doug Feinberg from the Associated Press and a positional breakdown from National TV Analyst Debbie Antonelli.

“Building off of last season’s on-court success, it’s very important to engage our fans in what will be another important draft for our franchise,” said Lynx Executive Vice President Roger Griffith. “We are extremely excited about the possibility of adding a premium talent at the No. 3 overall pick to our already loaded roster. We’re committed to providing our fans with the best possible draft coverage and our Draft Central will help them educate themselves on the top collegiate prospects during the tournament.”

Draft Central includes a module at the top featuring links to detailed individual scouting reports on the top 15 draft eligible seniors, including Miami’s Shenise Johnson and Riquna Williams, Ohio State’s Samantha Prahalis, Stanford’s Nnemkadi Ogwumike and Tennessee’s Glory Johnson and Shekinna Stricklen. Each scouting report features quotes from the Lynx coaching staff, assessments from national analysts and local beat writers and a breakdown of each player’s collegiate career.
