UMC Football Travels to Moorhead for a Homecoming Clash with the Dragons

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Football team travels to MSU Moorhead this Saturday, September 24 for an MSUM Homecoming matchup with the Dragons. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Alex Nemzek Field.

Minnesota, Crookston (1-2, 0-2 NSIC)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Football team trav¬eled to Mankato, Minn. to play the Mavericks in an NSIC contest on Saturday. Minnesota State used a stiff breeze, solid defense and strong special teams to shorten the field for the offense. Minne¬sota State had drives of 25, 17, 19, 26, 92 and 39 yards to help them to a 42-0 NSIC victory. The Golden Eagle offense was led today by Richard Haley (RB, 6-0, 205, Jr., Detroit, Mich.) who rushed 25 times for 87 yards. He scampered for a long of 22 yards and averaged 3.5 yards/rush. Cody Hendrickson (DB, 5-10, 185, Sr., Wright, Minn.) led the Golden Eagle defense and all players with 10 (5 assisted, 5 unassisted) tackles. The UMC defense also intercepted two MSU passes in the contest.

Minnesota State, Moorhead (1-2, 0-2 NSIC)- Upper Iowa bolted to a 7-0 getaway on the game’s first play, a 26-yard return of a fumble by Tony Leggett. It marked the third straight game the Dragons have been struck by lightning, sur¬rendering a touchdown in the first minute of play. . . Kevin Koch completed 13 of 21 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns while E’boni Lucious-West (99) and Brandon Thompson (91) combined for 190 rush¬ing yards in the 45-31 road loss to Upper Iowa. Kendall Hendon and Sean Mar¬lowe caught touchdown passes while Thompson and Lucious-West provided rushing TDs. Kevin Koch has completed 50 of 78 passes for 598 yards and a sparkling percentage of .641 in three starts. Kendall Hendon tops the receiving chart with 19 catches for 301 yards and four touchdowns, and has averaged 25.3 yards on kickoff returns as well. . . Wes Kramer delivered a 24-yard field goal against Upper Iowa, his second in four tries. Kramer has been perfect in nine extra point attempts as well.
