Skersick and Grunewald Receive PTP Basketball POTW honors

Katie Skersick (Sr., Forward) from Bagley High School and Tanner Grunewald (Sr., Guard) from Ada-Borup High School have been honored as the Pine to Prairie Girls and Boys Basketball Players of the Week.

Katie had 34 points and 16 rebounds in a win against Fertile-Beltrami, 21
points and 14 rebounds in a loss to East Grand Forks and scored 29 points
and grabbed 8 rebounds in a 59-66 lost to Ada-Borup in the Pine to Prairie
Conference Championship game on Saturday. Katie also recorded her 1000th career point in the first half of the Pine to Prairie Championship game.

Tanner led the Cougars to 3 wins during the past week. He scored a total of
80 points for a 26.7 points per game average. He also dished out 12 assists
and recorded 10 steals during these contests. He was a great leader in all 3 victories, which included an 80-74 triple overtime victory against Bagley in the Pine to Prairie Championship game.

It was an exciting week of basketball for the Pine to Prairie teams. Other
notable performances were turned in by: Tara Evje (Jr) from Fosston High
School, Shelby Kaster (Fr.) from Win-E-Mac High School Andi Knudsvig (Jr.) from Lake Park-Audubon High School and Erin Jasken (Sr.) from Waubun High School on the girls side. For the boys, Kris Skersick (Jr.) from Bagley High School, Kyle Arneson (Jr) and Garrett Carlin (Sr.) both from Fosston High School and Jake Pavek (So.) from Mahnomen High School all had outstanding efforts.
