LOUIS - North Dakota State punt returner Darrius Shepherd was named
Missouri Valley Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week by
the league office Sunday, Nov. 13.
Shepherd's 84-yard punt return touchdown on the game's opening drive set the tone for North Dakota State's 41-17 win over Indiana State. It was NDSU's first special teams touchdown of the year.
Shepherd, a sophomore from Blue Springs, Mo., scored his first career return touchdown, and it was the fourth longest punt return in NDSU history. He also had four pass receptions for 40 yards.
North Dakota State (9-1, 6-1 MVFC) closes out the regular season at South Dakota (4-6, 3-4 MVFC) at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the DakotaDome in Vermillion, S.D.
