NDSU No. 3 in FCS Coaches Poll, No. 4 in STATS FCS Top 25

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State climbed one spot to No. 3 in the final regular season FCS Coaches Poll released Monday, Nov. 21, one day after holding steady No. 4 in the STATS FCS Top 25.

The Bison had been ranked fourth in both polls since Oct. 17 following a home loss to South Dakota State.  NDSU won five straight games to finish the season 10-1 overall and earned a share of the Missouri Valley Football Conference championship with a 7-1 record.

North Dakota State claimed the No. 1 overall seed for the 24-team NCAA Division I Football Championship.  The Bison had the third-toughest schedule in the FCS with 10 of 11 opponents being ranked in the Top 25 at some point during the season.

NDSU will host a second-round FCS playoff game Saturday, Dec. 3, against the winner of this week's first-round game between Pioneer League champion San Diego (9-1) and Big Sky Conference fourth-place finisher Cal Poly (7-4).

The final polls will be released on Monday, Jan. 9, following the NCAA Division I football championship game.
