FARGO,
N.D. – The North Dakota State University track & field programs have
announced their competition schedule for the upcoming 2017 season, highlighted
by the Bison hosting the Summit League Outdoor Championships on May 11-13.
The
indoor slate will feature three home meets this season, including the
season-opening Dakota Classic on Dec. 2-3 in the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track
& Field Facility. NDSU will also be home for the Bison Classic on Jan. 14
and the Bison Open on Feb. 3-4.
South
Dakota State will host the 2017 Summit League Indoor Track & Field
Championships on Feb. 24-25. The NCAA Indoor Championships will take place in
College Station, Texas, on Mar. 10-11.
The
Bison women have won all nine Summit League indoor team titles since joining
the league in 2008, and the NDSU men have won five out of nine championships.
The
outdoor season begins at the Baldy Castillo Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., for
the fourth straight year on Mar. 17-18.
NDSU
will continue its tradition of competing in the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays on
Apr. 13-15 and the Drake Relays on Apr. 27-29. The Bison have three home meets
scheduled during the outdoor season – the Lyle Hokanson Classic on Apr. 21-22,
the NDSU Tune-Up on May 5, and the Summit League Championships on May 11-13.
The
NCAA West Preliminary Rounds are at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas,
on May 25-27, with the NCAA Outdoor Championships held in Eugene, Ore., for the
fifth straight season on June 7-10.
NDSU
has won nine straight women’s outdoor titles and seven consecutive men’s
outdoor championships in The Summit League.
