MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL –
The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has signed guard Kalana
Greene. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Greene,
a 5-10 guard out of the University of Connecticut, has spent time with
four WNBA franchises in her career. Most recently, Greene was signed by
the San Antonio Stars on June 23 and waived on July 28. She played in 11
games, including six starts, for the Stars averaging 4.4 points, 2.9
rebounds and 0.7 assists.
In
165 WNBA games with the New York Liberty, Connecticut Sun, Washington
Mystics and San Antonio Stars, Greene has averaged 4.3 points, 2.5
rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.7 minutes. She was originally selected in
the second round (13th overall) by the New York Liberty in the 2010
WNBA Draft.
Greene
played alongside fellow Lynx players Maya Moore and Renee Montgomery at
the University of Connecticut from 2007-2009. The trio won a National
Championship together with the Huskies in 2009. Green played in 157
games with 125 starts, averaging 9.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4
assists at Connecticut.
With the addition of Greene, the Lynx roster now stands at 12. She will wear #3.
