Welcome to the Post Season

Alright, STOP!  Collaborate and READ THIS....

Yes, I had to do that after reading the best news to come to the Minnesota Timberwolves' organization in a long time.  Did you hear about this?  Read about this?  You probably did in a previous blog here in the R&J Sports World, that the one, thee ONLY, Vanilla Ice (Ice, BABY) is coming to Minneapolis to perform at the Wolves' home opener on Thursday, October 30th at Target Center.  Right on Target for a successful season.  If the Wolves actually have a successful season this year, personally I see that particular attainment credited not to the new head coach; not to the new line up of young, talented athletes they have acquired; no, I will solely credit this success to the All-Star performance of one of the greatest singer/song writers of our time, Mr. Ice.

If you have not sensed any sarcasm in that paragraph above, then I apologize for providing you false hope.  I really don't mean to do that to you.  But look at that hair!  Man, that could be a new 'do' for this guy...if I actually had hair to do.  Now you're curious, which bald headed broadcaster is this filling us full of blogging goodness??  Tune in to the radio some day, you might find out.

Until then, we have more important things to talk about and type about...

PLAYOFFS!!!

Can you believe we're already into the semi finals for football and the volleyball matches will be kicking in to gear today (Thursday).

The post season is always a fun time for us, but very busy at the same time.  You see the teams performing at a new level, knowing that this could be the final game of the season.  As broadcasters you see both sides of it - the good feeling for the team who prevails knowing they will be playing another day, while the team who comes up short, the emotions of sadness and disappointment slowly start to set in, realizing that the season is over, just like that.

State tournaments get here very quickly following all of the section tournaments for the fall and before we know it, we'll have the opportunity to head down to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to cover some more area teams in the highest level possible that the Minnesota State High School League showcases each year!

I have a feeling the 2014 fall post season will prove to be another break through year of successful teams in our own listening area from northwestern Minnesota to eastern North Dakota!
