North Star Football Conference Players of the Week

(October 15, 2013) -   The North Star Football Conference has announced the Player of the Week award winners for week seven of football action.

East Division

Offensive Player of the Week – Brandon Mager (Pine River-Backus) had 10 catches for 149 yards and four touchdowns in Pine River-Backus’s win over Blackduck.

Defensive Player of the Week – Trey Volk (Blackduck) had 12 total tackles (6 solo, 6 assists), including two for losses and two passes broken up in a 12-24 loss to Pine River-Backus.

West Division

Offensive Player of the Week – Wyatt Casavan (Red Lake County) had 15 carries for 112 yards and two touchdowns plus was one for one passing with a touchdown against Fertile-Beltrami.

Defensive Player of the Week – Kal Handyside (Mahnomen) had four tackles, two for a loss, one assist and two sacks in a win over Lake Park-Audubon.

Other outstanding performances were turned in by:  Jace Loge (Pine River-Backus), Kody Lefebvre (Mahnomen) and Hesston Bachman (Frazee).
