NDSU Golfers Named Summit League Golfers of the Month


NDSU’s Carlson Named Summit League Male Golfer of the Month

ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State's Bill Carlson was named Summit League Male Golfer of the Month by the league office Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Carlson, a junior from
Fargo, N.D., placed in the top five in all three tournaments in September including his first collegiate victory at the Erv Kaiser Invitational with a 54-hole score of 214.  He placed third at the Navy Fall Classic and was fifth at the Jackrabbit Fall Invitational.

Carlson had a 70.88 scoring average and shot a career-low 68 twice at Navy and
South Dakota State.  As a team, the Bison finished in the top five in all three tournaments.

North Dakota State is scheduled to play in the UNO Maverick Collegiate Invitational at Arbor Links Golf Club on Monday, Oct. 7, and Tuesday, Oct. 8.
 

NDSU’s Storandt Named Summit League Female Golfer of the Month

ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State's Sarah Storandt was named the Summit League Female Golfer of the Month by the league office Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Storandt, a junior from
Moorhead, Minn., got her first two collegiate victories at Concordia and North Dakota.  She shot a career-low 71 to win the Cobber Open by two strokes and shot a three-round 225 at UND to win by eight shots.

Storandt was the runner-up at
South Dakota State with a three-round score of 232 and finished in a tie for 14th place at the Nebraska Chip-N Club Invitaitonal.  She had a 75.6 stroke average in 10 rounds as the Bison won team titles at Concordia and UND and placed second at SDSU.

North Dakota State is scheduled to compete at the Xavier LPGA Invitational this Saturday, Oct. 5, through Monday, Oct. 7, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
