(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston athletic department announced today that the 1st Annual Mary Tyrrell’s Health Walk for Scholarships will be held on Thursday, August 11 on the U of M, Crookston campus. The walk is designed to raise awareness for heart and women’s health and to support UMC student-athlete scholarships which Mary devoted countless hours to.
Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with the walk beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Harris A. Peterson Gazebo located on the mall at UMC. The registration fee is $25 and all participants receive a free event t-shirt and supper with food donated by Crookston National Bank. Healthy food options will be grilled from 6:30-7:30 p.m. with a speaker and prize give-a-ways from 7:00-7:30 p.m. Tables with information on heart health, women’s health, general wellness and the University of Minnesota, Crookston will be available for participants to take home with them.
