FARGO,
N.D. - North Dakota State dropped six spots to No. 8 in the STATS FCS
Top 25 media poll and the FCS Coaches Poll announced Monday, Oct. 19,
following NDSU's 24-21 home loss to unranked South Dakota.
Coastal Carolina (6-0) remained atop the coaches poll after a bye week, Jacksonville State moved up to second, unbeaten James Madison is third, Illinois State fourth, Chattanooga fifth, South Dakota State sixth and Eastern Washington seventh ahead of the Bison.
Jacksonville State (5-1) maintained the top spot in the media poll followed by Coastal Carolina, Illinois State, James Madison, Chattanooga, South Dakota State and Eastern Washington.
The Missouri Valley Football Conference has seven teams in both polls with the addition of previously unranked Western Illinois 20th in the media poll and 23rd in the coaches poll. The Fighting Leathernecks are 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the MVFC after a 24-19 victory at Northern Iowa.
