CROOKSTON,
Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston football team will hold
an intrasquad scrimmage as the defense takes on the offense Wed., Aug.
26 at Ed Widseth Field. The Golden Eagles encourage fans and students to
come out and support the event and give a preview for the 2015 season
as they get ready for their season opener Sat., Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. at
Wayne State College (Neb.). UMC will officially open up their home
schedule.
The game will pit the White team (offense) against the
Maroon team (defense). The scrimmage will consist of the No. 1 offense
vs. the No. 2 defense and then the No. 2 offense vs. the No. 1 defense.
It will conclude with the No. 3 offense vs. the No. 3 defense and a
session of special teams. No score will be kept for the game.
The
Golden Eagles currently have 86 members on the team. They are in their
third year being coached by Mike Fritze. Offensive Coordinator Robby
Case will lead the White squad while Defensive Coordinator Mark Dufner
will lead the Maroon squad.
