MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx traded its 11th, 23rd and 28th overall picks in the 2015 WNBA Draft to the New York Liberty in exchange for guard Anna Cruz and the Liberty’s 16th and 35th overall picks.
A
native of Spain, Cruz played 34 games for the Liberty last season and
averaged 7.7 points, 3.6 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. Prior to
signing with the Liberty in 2014, Cruz spent the 2013-14 season playing
in Russia for Nadezhda Orenburg where she averaged 7.2 points, 2.9
rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
This
offseason Cruz played 19 games for Nadezhda Orenburg and averaged 8.6
points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists in league play. She was named the
2014 Eurobasket.com All-Europeans Point Guard of the Year and was also
named to the Eurobasket.com All-European 1st Team 2014.
Additionally,
Cruz competed in the Spanish League for nine seasons, including the
previous four with Rivas Ecopolis. She also played for Olesa, Burgoes
and Barcelona. She has represented Spain as member of the national team
since 2009, earning bronze medals at the 2009 Women European
Championships and 2010 World Championships and the silver medal at the
2014 World Championships.

Minnesota still has the 16th and 35th overall picks in the 2015 WNBA Draft.
The
first chance fans have to see the new-look roster is the team’s
preseason contest at Target Center on Monday, June 1 vs. the New York
Liberty at 7 p.m. Tickets for the game are currently on sale for Lynx
season members at their discounted member rate. Group tickets can also
be purchased for the preseason game and every game for the 2015 season
starting at a rate of $14 by calling the Lynx at 612-673-8400. Group
ticket pricing may vary by game. Single-game tickets will be released
for sale at a later date.
The
Lynx will kick off their 17th season in the WNBA at home on Friday,
