ELMHURST,
Ill. – North Dakota State’s Antoinette Goodman was named The Summit
League’s Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for her
performance at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays on May 2-3.
Goodman
collects her third career Outdoor Athlete of the Week award and second
this season after recording a pair of first-place finishes at the Howard
Wood Dakota Relays. She clocked a school-record time of 11.36 in the
100-meter dash which ranks first in The Summit League and 22nd in the
nation. Goodman crossed the finish line in a wind-aided time of 22.83 in
the 200-meter dash, a time that would be tied for seventh in the
nation.
The
senior from Burnsville, Minn., broke her previous school record in the
100 meters by a remarkable 0.28 seconds. In the NCAA’s Midwest Region
which spans nine states, Goodman is ranked No. 1 in both the 100m and
200m this season.
If
the qualifying period for the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds ended today,
Goodman could earn spots in five different events – the 100m, 200m,
long jump, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay – which would be an NDSU
record.
