All-Summit League winners

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - North Dakota State forward Taylor Braun was named to the All-Summit League first team and guard Lawrence Alexander made the All-Newcomer Team in a vote of the league's media, coaches and sports information directors announced Thursday, March 1.

Braun, a 6-foot-7 sophomore from Newberg, Ore., is North Dakota State's leading scorer and rebounder with 15.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. In league play, he averaged 17.7 points and 6.5 rebounds. He is NDSU’s first all-league first-teamer since Ben Woodside and Brett Winkelman in 2008 and 2009.

Alexander, a 6-foot-3 freshman from Peoria, Ill., is NDSU's second leading scorer with 12.9 points per game and leads the team with 4.7 assists per game. He was the league's highest scoring newcomer and ranked fourth among all players in assists averaging 13.8 points 4.6 assists in league play.

Oral Roberts forward Dominique Morrison was voted Player of the Year, Western Illinois guard Ceola Clark III was named Defensive Player of the Year, ORU forward Steven Roundtree was named Sixth Man of the Year, and ORU's Scott Sutton was voted Coach of the Year.

No. 5-seeded North Dakota State (17-12) is scheduled to play No. 4-seeded Western Illinois (16-13) at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 4, in the quarterfinals of the Summit League tournament at Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls, S.D.
