UMC's Manusos Named to All-NSIC Gold Glove Team

CROOKSTON, Minn.- University of Minnesota Crookston softball player Ashley Manusos (Sr., OF, Spring Grove, Ill./Sports and Rec Management) was named to the Gold Glove team as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) named their All-Conference teams for the 2014 season.

Manusos was honored as one of the best defensive players in the conference, a much deserved honor for the center field who was consistently made strong defensive play after strong defensive play in the outfield over the last two years. Manusos had a game-saving rob of a home run in a win over St. Cloud State University earlier this season. The senior held a .984 fielding percentage on the season with just one error.

Minnesota State University, Mankato catcher Lindsay Erickson was named the NSIC Player of the Year. The NSIC Pitcher of the Year and NSIC Freshman of the Year was Coley Ries of Minnesota State. The NSIC Newcomer of the Year was Winona State University Pitcher Hanna Lythberg, while the NSIC Coach of the Year was Minnesota State’s Lori Meyer. Winona State led all teams with four players on the All-NSIC First Team.
