CROOKSTON, Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team announced the addition of Brayden Larson (P/C, 6-0 195, Middle River, Minn./Greenbush/Middle River H.S.) to a National Letter of Intent. Larson is the second player to join the UMC baseball program during the Late Signing Period along with another local product Cody Magsam (IF, Crookston, Minn./Fisher Public School).

“We are excited that Brayden Larson has decided to attend the
University of Minnesota Crookston and play baseball for us,” said Head Coach Chris Vito. “Like Cody Magsam, Brayden is an area kid that we are excited to add to our program. We feel that he will bring passion and a strong work ethic to the program and are looking forward to having him as a Golden Eagle.”

Larson was a 2012 and 2013 Northwest Diamond All-Conference pick, as well as a 2013 Great North All-Conference selection. He was named the Most Improved Player by his team in 2011 and earned the Gator Award in 2012. Brayden was named the team’s top infielder in 2013. He was an Honor Roll and “Spotlight on Scholarship” student throughout his high school career. Brayden also played football and basketball throughout high school.

He is the son of John and Dawn Marie Larson. Brayden plans to major in agronomy at
UMC. He was born Feb. 22, 1996.

The Golden Eagles are looking to replace a large senior class which includes eight players. They are currently slated to have 12 players return to the team for the 2015 season.

All signees are contingent upon admission to
UMC and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center. Everyone released today has signed their National Letter of Intent prior to the release of information.
