BURNSVILLE,
Minn. – University of Minnesota Crookston sophomore Isieoma Odor (R-So., F/C,
Bloomington, Minn.) was announced as Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference
(NSIC) North Division Player of the Week after an outstanding weekend against
University of Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State University. Odor is the
second UMC women’s basketball player to garner the award this season, joining
Alison Hughes (So., G, Janesville, Wis.).
Odor
had a big weekend for the Golden Eagles as she averaged 20.5 points and 9.0
rebounds. Odor came off the bench in both games on the weekend and put together
two of her best performances of her young career. In a big win against St.
Cloud State, Odor had 22 points and nine boards on 10-of-11 from the field. She
added two assists and was 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. Odor tallied 19
points and nine rebounds on 7-of-10 from the field against Minnesota Duluth.
She tallied three blocks on the weekend and was 7-of-9 for 77.8 percent from
the charity stripe. Odor helped Head Coach Mike Roysland to his 100th
career win. She was 17-of-21 for 81.0 percent from the field on the weekend.
Odor
joined Maggie Schulte of Wayne State College as honorees this week as she
received NSIC South Division Player of the Week.
The
Golden Eagles will play three games this weekend. They play at Bemidji State
University at the Sanford Center Tues., Jan. 10. They will then take on
Southwest Minnesota State University Fri., Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. and University of
Sioux Falls Sat., Jan. 14 at 4 p.m.
