N.D. – Former North Dakota State University standout golfer and current
LPGA tour member Amy Anderson will serve as a volunteer assistant coach
for the NDSU women's golf team this fall, head coach Matt Johnson announced Tuesday.
Anderson, who is currently in her third year on the LPGA tour, will assist North Dakota State during her LPGA off-season this fall.
"Amy has a very busy practice and competition schedule with her professional career, and that, of course, will continue. Fortunately for us, her LPGA off-season training coincides with our fall practice schedule," Johnson said. "Amy has generously agreed to spend some of her down time working with us on the development of our current players. I'm excited to see all the ways she will be able to help our student-athletes grow."
A native of Oxbow, N.D., Anderson won a program-record 20 events and was a two-time All-American, three-time Summit League champion, four-time Golfer of the Year, and four-time NCAA tournament qualifier for the Bison from 2010-2013.
North Dakota State is scheduled to open the 2016-17 season at the Omaha Invitational Sept. 3-4 at Arbor Links in Nebraska City, Neb.
