FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State was ranked No. 2 in the
STATS FCS Top 25 and No. 3 in the FCS Coaches Poll released Monday, Nov. 9,
following a wild week of results that saw six of the nation's top 10 teams take
losses.
NDSU, 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, did not get any first-place votes but vaulted two spots in the coaches poll and four spots in the media poll following a 59-7 rout of Western Illinois, which was the most points scored by a Bison team since 2012.
Jacksonville State (8-1) got 149 of the 161 first-place votes in the media poll and McNeese State (9-0) received the other 12 votes but was third overall in the voting. Coastal Carolina (8-1) was up four spots to fourth, and South Dakota State (7-2) moved up six spots to fifth place after a 25-20 win over Illinois State (7-2), which dropped from second to sixth.
