MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The WNBA today
named Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore the Western Conference Player of the
Week for games played Monday, July 6 through Sunday, July 12. The Player of the
Week award is Moore’s first of the season and the 11th of her career.
Moore led all Western Conference scorers for the week
with 24.5 points per game and ranked 3rd in the WNBA in rebounding with 9.5
rebounds per game. Moore registered a season-high 29 points in the July 10 game
at Chicago, adding 10 rebounds, a season-best six assists and two steals in the
night. Twenty-five of her points that night came in the second half, including
16 in the fourth quarter. Moore set a franchise single-game record with 14
three-point attempts and notched her 24th career point/rebound
double-double. It was also the 14th time she’s collected 20+ points and 10+
rebounds.
Moore followed up her performance with a game-high 20 points and team-best nine rebounds in the July 12 game victory over San Antonio, marking her sixth 20+ effort of the season. Moore currently ranks third in the WNBA in scoring with 18.3 points per game, first among small forwards in rebounding with 7.1 rebounds per game, third among small forwards in assists with 3.3 assists per game and 4th in steals with 2.08 steals per game.

The Lynx play next on Tuesday, July 14 at Mohegan Sun
