CROOKSTON,
Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston men’s basketball program
announced the addition of Bryan Beamish as assistant coach. Beamish will
join Head Coach Dan Weisse and Assistant Coach Mike Annese on staff for
the Golden Eagles for the 2014-15 season. Beamish comes to UMC after

season as a graduate assistant under Jim Larranaga at NCAA Division I University of Miami (Fla.).
“We
are thrilled to be able to add someone of Bryan’s caliber to our
coaching staff,” Weisse said. “All along his career as a player and a
coach, he has had a chance to learn the game from some great basketball
minds. I believe the players will thoroughly enjoy working with Bryan.
He is someone who was a successful player at Wisconsin-Stevens Points
and who could probably still hold his own in practice. Bryan will be a
tremendous addition to our basketball program and our University, as a
whole.”

primary responsibilities were breaking down opponent’s game film,
assisting during practice and helping run Miami’s basketball camps.

Tournament.

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., native had a prolific four-year career for the
Pointers. During his time in Stevens Point, he earned First Team
All-Conference honors twice and served as team captain during his junior
and senior seasons. Beamish started every game during three of his four
years with the Pointers. He hlped lead the team to two Wisconsin
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Regular-Season and Tournament
Championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances.
