UMC's Noga Named All-NSIC Second Team

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – University of Minnesota Crookston senior guard Micaela Noga (Parkers Prarie, Minn.) was named All-NSIC Second Team as announced by the conference office Thursday morning. Noga is a first-time honoree on All-NSIC Teams. The Golden Eagles have had four players earn seven honors in five-consecutive seasons of having a player named All-NSIC First or Second Team.

Noga’s All-NSIC Second Team accolades makes it two years in a row that Minnesota Crookston has had players earn the honor. Katrina (Moenkedick) Nordick earned All-NSIC Second Team accolades in 2013-14 before being named All-NSIC First Team in 2014-15 and 2015-16. Alexa Thielman was picked as All-NSIC First Team in 2014-15 and 2015-16. The Golden Eagles have had 15 players earn either All-NSIC First Team, Second Team or Honorable Mention honors 24 times in the school’s time in the conference since 1999-00.

Noga averaged 12.2 points per game, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. She became the 11th player in school history to reach 1,000 points Jan. 19 against University of Mary. She finished her career with 1,106 career points, which ranks seventh all-time in scoring. She surpassed Minnesota Crookston greats Cathy Behr, Stephanie Mayclin, Bri Zabel and Jessica Forsline on the all-time points list. Noga scored in double figures in 19 games on the 2017-18 season. She notched a season-high 23 points against Minnesota Duluth. Noga was 69-of-80 from the charity stripe for 86.3 percent.

Miranda Ristau of Northern State University garnered NSIC Player of the Year honors. Logan O’Farrell of Augustana University was selected NSIC Defensive Player of the Year. Allie Pickrain of Winona State University earned NSIC Freshman of the Year, while Dave Krauth of Augustana was named NSIC Coach of the Year.
