Evje, George and Carlin Earn Pine To Prairie Conference

Tara Evje (Jr., Forward) from Fosston High School has been chosen as the Pine to Prairie Girls Basketball Player of the Week. Tyler George (Jr., Guard) from Bagley High School and Garrett Carlin (Sr., Forward) from Fosston High School have selected as the Pine to Prairie Boys Basketball Players of the Week.

Tara had 22 points and 6 rebounds in an exciting win over Lake Park-Audubon. She scored the winning basket with 9 seconds left in the game. Evje added 19 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Fertile-Beltrami. In the Fosston Holiday Tournament, Tara had 25 points and 23 rebounds while hitting the game winning shot against Roseau with 8 seconds remaining. For the past three games, Tara has averaged 22 points and 13 rebounds per game. Tara also earned a Pine to Prairie Conference Volleyball Player of
the Week award during the fall season.

Tyler George led the Flyers to a 3-0 record last week with wins over Waubun, Clearbrook-Gonvick and Mahnomen. Tyler was instrumental in the team’s success with his scoring and defense. Tyler has scored very consistently this season. He is averaging 22 points per game with his lowest point total being 21 points so far this season in 4
games.

Garrett Carlin averaged 20 points per game, 9.5 rebound, 3 assist, 2 steals and 1.5 blocks in two games during the past week. Garrett led the Greyhounds to wins over Lake Park- Audubon and Fertile-Beltrami.
Other outstanding conference performers for last week include: Bailee Bartunek – Fr., Center from Lake ParkAudubon, Alex Wentzel – Jr., Forward from Climax-Fisher,Tanner Grunewald – Sr., Guard from Ada-Borup, and Mark Goss – Sr., Guard from Fosston.
