FARGO,
N.D. – The North Dakota State University athletic department will host
an NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament selection show watch party at the
Fargodome on Sunday, March 15.
The
event is free and open to the public. The watch party will be held in
the banquet rooms on the second level of the Fargodome. Fans are asked
to park in the east lots of the building and enter through the east
lobby. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m., and the matchups for the 68-team
field will be announced on CBS starting at 5 p.m.
Fans
are encouraged to arrive early. Men’s basketball student-athletes will
sign autographs from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and door prizes will be given
throughout the event. Head coach David Richman will address the crowd
after the pairings have been announced.
Locations
for the second and third rounds of the NCAA Tournament will also be
announced during the selection show. The eight host cities are
Jacksonville, Fla.; Louisville, Ky.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Portland, Ore.;
Charlotte, N.C.; Columbus, Ohio; Omaha, Neb.; and Seattle, Wash.
The
tournament opens with the “First Four” on March 17-18 in Dayton, Ohio.
The second round will be played March 19-20, with the third round to
follow on March 21-22.
NDSU (23-9) was The Summit League’s regular season co-champion and tournament champion, culminating with a 57-56 victory over South Dakota State in the league championship game on Tuesday night to clinch the school’s third bid to the NCAA Tournament.
