ELMHURST, Ill. – Brandt Berghuis
of North Dakota State was named the men’s Summit League Indoor Track
& Field Athlete of the Week while North Dakota State’s Erin Teschuk was named women’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for their performances Feb. 9-15.

Brandt Berghuis of North Dakota State is named Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career after his performance at the Iowa State Classic. The junior thrower had a toss of 62’ 11.5” in the weight throw, a mark that is more than two feet better than second place in The Summit League this season. The only athletes to finish ahead of Berghuis at the meet all placed in the top 21 nationally.

Erin Teschuk collects her third career Athlete of the Week Award and third of this season after her performance at the Iowa State Classic over the weekend. Fresh off being named Summit League Athlete of the Month for January, she followed that up with a school and meet record run in the 3,000m. She clocked in at 9:02.40, obliterating a 30-year-old school record of 9:30.34 in her first 3,000m race of her career. The time is currently ranked fourth nationally and was ranked No. 1 in the nation when she crossed the finish line.
