NDSU head coach Roger Kish made the announcement on
Monday, Nov. 18, during the one-week early signing period. Both
student-athletes are expected to join the Bison in the fall of 2014.
Mironenko won a Pennsylvania AA state title at 285 pounds
as a sophomore in 2012, going 43-2 on the season. As a junior, he went 35-5 and
captured a district championship, and he has been ranked among the nation’s top
20 heavyweights entering his senior season. Mironenko was also a standout
lineman for the Mifflinburg football team.
Stackhouse placed third in the 160-pound freestyle
division at USA Junior Nationals in Fargo in July 2013. As a sophomore in 2012,
he went 38-3 and was a New Jersey state tournament qualifier at 145 pounds.
Stackhouse followed up with a 34-5 record at 152 pounds as a junior, and he is
ranked 17th in the nation at 160 pounds entering his senior season.
NDSU will compete next in a triangular against Northern Iowa and Northern Illinois in DeKalb, Ill., on Nov. 23.
