The North Star Football Conference has announced the
Players of the Week
for the first week of action.
East Division
Offensive Player of the Week
Austin Richter (Sr., Walker-Hackensack-Akeley) had 9
receptions for 80
yards and scored a touchdown in the Wolves loss to
Lake Park-Audubon.
Defensive Player of the Week
Weston Smith (Sr., Pine River-Backsu) recorded 1 sack,
2 additional tackles
for a loss and 10 total tackles as the Tigers defeated
Fosston 14-6.
West Division
Offensive Players of the Week
Taylor Briard (Jr., Lake Park-Audubon) had 152 yards
rushing and 3
touchdowns on 10 attempts and added 74 receiving yards
and a touchdown
as Lake Park-Audubon
Mitchell Mosher (Sr., Fertile-Beltrami) recorded 253
yards on 25 carries as
the Falcons defeated Blackduck 14-6.
Defensive Player of the Week
Garret Malstrom (Jr., Frazee) lead the Hornet defense
with at least one solo
tackle, several tackles for a loss and involved in
multiple tackles for the
evening as Frazee defeated Bagley 22-13.
Other outstanding performances for the week were
turned in by Matt Tangen
(Frazee) and Austin Reitan
(Mahnomen).
