The North Dakota State University men’s cross country team has been picked to finish second in The Summit League, according to a poll of league head coaches released Thursday.
The Bison were edged by South Dakota State in the preseason poll, with SDSU and NDSU finishing with 46 and 43 points, respectively.
Coming off a runner-up finish at the 2011 Summit League Championships, NDSU returns four of its top six finishers from the league meet a year ago, including sophomores Grady Anderson and Brett Kelly and juniors Moses Heppner and Alec Espeland.
NDSU will host the Bison Invitational on Fri., Aug. 31, to open the 2012 cross country season.
