NJCAA Announces 2017 Football All-Americans

Colorado Springs, CO —The 2017 NJCAA Football All-America teams were announced Tuesday by the NJCAA Football Committee.

Iowa Western led the way with eight All-America selections, including four on the first team. 2017 national champions East Mississippi boasted a pair of All-America selections with defensive back Duke Upshaw earning first team honors. For the second consecutive season Arizona Western tallied five players with postseason recognition.

The Western States Football League (WSFL) served as the most decorated conference with 15 players earning All-America honors, the second straight season the league boasted 15 selections. The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) totaled 12 recipients while the Mississippi Association of Community & Junior Colleges (MACJC) recorded 11 honorees. The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) added 10 picks.

Arizona Western’s running back Greg Bell III and Iowa Western’s offensive lineman Anthony McKinney were repeat first team selections after being honored as freshmen in 2016. Brandon Perce (Rochester), Troy Burnett (Kilgore), Tarik Johnson (Erie), Terry Williams (Itawamba), and Damien Lewis (Northwest Mississippi) all earned All-America recognition for the second consecutive year.

The 2017 NJCAA Offensive, Defensive, and Coach of the Year will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 11:00 AM EST via Twitter (@NJCAA).
