GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The
University of North Dakota remained ranked No. 4 in both the USCHO.com and USA
Today/USA Hockey Magazine national men’s hockey polls, which were
released on Monday afternoon.
The Fighting Hawks are coming
off of a sweep of National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) rival Denver,
winning 5-1 on Friday and 4-0 on Saturday. That sweep gave UND sole possession
of first place in the NCHC heading into next weekend’s series at No. 17
Minnesota Duluth.
Defending national champion
Providence remained atop both polls, with Quinnipiac ranked No. 2 and Boston
College No. 3 in both.
UND’s series at Minnesota
Duluth will be its final action prior to the Christmas break. The Fighting
Hawks will return to action Jan. 1-2 when they host Alabama-Huntsville.
