NDSU Men's Basketball Schedule 2017-18

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men’s basketball team will play non-conference games at Power 5 opponents Arizona, USC and Mississippi State to highlight the schedule for the 2017-18 season.

NDSU’s first three regular season games are on the road. The Bison will open the season at UC Santa Barbara on Nov. 11 and stay in southern California to take on USC on Nov. 13.

NDSU plays at Missouri State on Nov. 17, beginning a second home-and-home series with the Bears that will bring the Missouri Valley Conference opponent to Fargo again during the 2018-19 season. The Bison host Missouri State for the first time on Dec. 4 this season.

The home opener is scheduled for Nov. 22 against Florida A&M.

NDSU will meet Mississippi State of the SEC on Nov. 30 and Arizona of the Pac-12 Conference on Dec. 18.

NDSU’s two contests against North Dakota are Dec. 9 in Grand Forks and Jan. 16 in Fargo.

Summit League play begins Jan. 3 for the Bison when South Dakota State visits the Scheels Center. NDSU plays five of its first seven Summit League games at home and closes the year with four of the final five league contests on the road.

NDSU Baseball Set to Host Fall Prospect Camp in September

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State University head baseball coach Tod Brown will host a Fall Prospect Camp on Sunday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Newman Outdoor Field on the NDSU campus.

High school graduates from 2018, 2019 and 2020 are invited to participate in the camp that focuses on hitting, pitching and defensive skills. Cost is $125 and includes lunch.

North Dakota State concluded the 2017 season with an overall record of 31-25, marking the fifth time in program history NDSU has won at least 30 games. The 31 victories also tied for fourth most in program history. In addition, the Bison won a program-record 19 Summit League games and set new season marks for double plays (53) and shutouts (7).

UMC Volleyball Picked 12th in NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball program was picked to finish 12^th in the 2017 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Preseason Coaches’ Poll released Thurs., Aug. 3.

Defending NCAA Division II National Champion Concordia University-St. Paul was picked as the league favorite as they were slotted first with 10 first-place votes and 218 overall points.  Southwest Minnesota State University came in close at second with three first-place votes and 202 overall points, while University of Minnesota Duluth was one point back at 201 points and two first-place votes as they were picked third.

Taylor Reiss, an outside hitter from Southwest Minnesota State, was picked as the NSIC Preseason Player of the Year.

Minnesota Crookston enters their first season under Head Coach Sarah Rauen in 2017. Rauen comes to the Golden Eagles after spending the last four seasons as an assistant coach at North Dakota State University.

The U of M Crookston has a strong core returning to the fold with five starters returning to the fray for 2017. The Golden Eagles will look to Player to Watch Kassi Green to lead the way. Green, an outside hitter, averaged 2.13 kills per set and hit .133 as a redshirt junior in 2016. Minnesota Crookston also returns her identical twin Kelci Green, who will anchor the middle for the Golden Eagles. Kelci Green tallied 2.13 kills per set and hit .324 on the season. She led the team with 0.78 blocks per set. In addition, redshirt senior outside hitter Maggie Perrel returns. Perrel led the team with 3.50 kills per set as a redshirt junior. The Golden Eagles also return libero Ali Schueler and middle hitter Callie Schapekahm as starters.

Minnesota Crookston will look to improve upon their 10-18 mark last season. The Golden Eagles tallied a 6-14 conference mark last season led by a key conference victory over Minnesota State University-Mankato.

The Golden Eagles will commence the 2017 season at the South Central Classic in Durant, Okla. Sept. 1-2. The U of M Crookston will play matches against University of Central Missouri, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Southern Nazarene University and Ouachita Baptist University. Minnesota Crookston opens practice for the 2017 season Aug. 14.
